Cloud County Community College’s small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems program will be offering a free workshop about drone ownership Saturday, March 2, from 9:30 a.m. — 12:30 p.m. in Building D2 on the Geary County Campus of Cloud County Community College.
Drones are being used by hobbyists, business owners, government agencies, and in agriculture. The prices for drones have decreased significantly over the past few years, while the capabilities and improvements in technology have skyrocketed.
This workshop will help drone owners with many questions they may have about their new drone, including where a drone can be flown, whether it needs to be registered with the FAA, and how high and fast a drone can be flown.
The informational workshop will be conducted by two of the program’s licensed remote pilot instructors. They will also introduce Cloud County’s new drone club, CCCC UAVs, which will be open for community participation in the near future.
To register for the workshop, contact Laura Leite, Business and Industry coordinator, at [email protected], or by phone at 785.243.1435, ext. 374. Deadline to register is Feb. 27.
